Happy New Year!! The end of 2025 saw some big changes with some long term residents of this community. On December 24th, 2025 at the age of 91, Mrs. Dorcas Hayes passed away. She had been living at Amy McClure House for a few months before she passed. Her absence will be felt for a long time.

Building: Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays!! I know there are many activities planned for the next two weeks, so please look at the calendar and keep watch for notices. Please keep socializing, please keep playing cards and games, and please look out for one another. Invite a new neighbor to participate in a scrabble tournament! Challenge a friend to shuffle board. There are board games tucked in the counter where we sign up for meals. Help yourself! Thank you all for the amazing treats! Chocolate and nuts and cookies and tarts- you spoil us! We love it! Thank you.

Building: I have had multiple people comment to me this week what a joy and a gift you all provide to the community! Your balcony lights bring holiday Cheer to everyone that sees them! Thank you and great job!

Building: The oldest of our three water heaters kicked the can, so we are down to two. To accommodate fewer water heaters, we increased the heat of the water the other two put out. We have heard many comments – some are thankful for the extra hot baths they get, and some asked us to turn it down. We have listened and split the difference: we turned their temperature down, but not all the was back to normal. The replacement water heater has been ordered and will be replaced soon after Christmas.

We have a new snow clearing crew operating with us this winter. …. I would encourage everybody to be very aware of the machines when the crew is working outside. They work long hours and get into a rhythm, and may not be as aware as we are. Please be careful.
